About Negeori Restaurant

Let me introduce you to Negeori Restaurant, a laid-back seafood spot tucked into the everyday rhythm of Seogwipo, where locals and curious travelers end up when they want something honest and satisfying. Located at 20 Seomun-ro 29beon-gil in Seogwipo-si, Jeju-do, this place doesn’t try to be flashy, and that’s part of the charm. From the moment you step inside, the vibe feels relaxed and food-focused, the kind of seafood restaurant where conversations flow easily and the menu does the talking. Negeori Restaurant is known for keeping things straightforward, serving seafood that feels fresh, well-handled, and comforting rather than overworked. Because of that approach, it works just as well for a quick bite as it does for a longer, easygoing meal with friends. If you feel like settling in, dine-in service lets you slow down and enjoy the atmosphere, while delivery is there for days when staying in sounds better. The offerings lean casual and crowd-friendly, so grabbing a cold beer or a simple alcoholic drink alongside your meal feels natural, not forced. What stands out most is how approachable everything feels, from the pacing of the service to the way the food fits into your day without demanding too much attention. Negeori Restaurant doesn’t push trends or complicated ideas, yet it still leaves a clear impression by doing the basics right. It’s the kind of seafood restaurant you recommend when someone asks for a reliable place that locals actually visit, especially if they want something filling, relaxed, and easy to enjoy. Whether you drop by on a busy afternoon or a quieter evening, the experience stays consistent, which makes Negeori Restaurant easy to remember and even easier to return to. For many people exploring Jeju, it fits neatly into travel plans because the food feels familiar yet rooted in place, and the casual setup makes spontaneous visits simple, especially when seafood cravings hit unexpectedly.

I originally thought this place was some touristy restaurant but when we went in the morning, it was already filled with locals. So indeed it is a popular restaurant in the area. We ordered the stewed fish which was VERY tasty, goes well with rice, a bit heavy for the morning, but well, I wanted to try their signature. There are a lot of bones of course, so you got to be quite experienced with eating fish. We also ordered the Uni seaweed soup, but I think it is quite normal. For the morning, I see most table will just order the seaweed soup, and the restaurant will send friend mackerel for free, which is enough for breakfast. There is also a free parking spot behind the restaurant, it was very nice!

So delicious!! Both the braised and the grilled hairtail fish were so delicious. They also gave grilled mackerel for free! Seems like this restaurant is famous because I found so many signatures there. The price is quite expensive but still worth trying!

We visited for brunch, and the place was already bustling with locals. There’s a free parking area down the road, within walking distance of the restaurant. The restaurant itself is medium-sized and can accommodate larger groups comfortably. We ordered the hairtail soup, braised mackerel, and grilled hairtail fish. The hairtail meat has a softer, more delicate texture, which may come down to personal preference. Among the dishes, only the braised mackerel came in a medium portion, while the others were on the smaller side for three people to share. Overall, it was a pleasant dining experience with authentic flavours and a lively atmosphere.

Stepping into Negeori Restaurant on Jeju Island, I wasn't just looking for a meal; I was looking for a connection, a taste of the island's heart after hearing so much about its culinary delights. And oh, did Negeori deliver. From the moment I walked in, there was a comforting hum, a mix of friendly chatter and the sizzle of delicious things cooking. It felt less like a restaurant and more like a warm, bustling home kitchen – the kind where you know every dish is made with care. As someone who appreciates good, honest food, that feeling alone was a huge draw. I opted for their famous Black Pork BBQ, and with the first bite, I understood the hype. The meat was incredibly tender, perfectly grilled, and had that distinct, rich flavor that Jeju black pork is celebrated for. But it wasn't just the pork; it was the whole experience. The array of fresh, vibrant banchan (side dishes) that accompanied it were a revelation – each one a little burst of flavor, perfectly complementing the main event. It felt like a culinary dance on my palate. What truly struck me, though, was the genuine warmth of the staff. Despite the language barrier, their smiles and helpful gestures made me feel incredibly welcome. It's that kind of sincere hospitality that elevates a good meal to an unforgettable experience, especially when you're far from home. While Negeori isn't a fancy, Michelin-starred establishment, it doesn't need to be. Its charm lies in its authenticity, its dedication to showcasing the simple, delicious flavors of Jeju. The atmosphere is lively and unpretentious, perfect for enjoying a hearty meal with friends or family. The only reason I'm not giving it a full five stars is simply because, like any popular spot, it can get quite busy, and you might have a short wait. But honestly, the delicious food and heartwarming experience are absolutely worth it. Leaving Negeori, I felt more than just full; I felt content, as if I'd truly experienced a piece of Jeju's soul. It was a meal that nourished not just my body, but my spirit, leaving me with a fond memory of the island's generous flavors and warm embrace. If you're on Jeju and looking for an honest, delicious, and truly local dining experience, Negeori is a must-visit. You won't regret it.

Hairtail fish is really good whether it’s grilled or boiled. Soup is unexpectedly spicy though it looks clear. Price is on the high side but worth trying.

We came here twice. The first night it was very busy. They didn't really attend to us because we couldn't speak Korean? But we had some locals helped us with ordering so it was fine. The hairtail soup and grilled mackerel were very good! The second night we came in it was not that busy so we were served kindly. They don't serve pork here. There is parking behind the restaurant.

Even though I’m not a big fan of fishes, I love this restaurant’s grilled mackerel and grilled hair tail. The meal was satisfying for my friends and I. Would come here again for the food.
